National Mother Goose Day!

Mother Goose by Blanche Fisher Wright

Today is National Mother Goose Day!  Most if not all of us have at one time or another read or been read a Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme.  I periodically post nursery rhymes because not only do children love hearing them, but they are also good for reading and speech development.  I remember having to search online for them as I could only remember a handful from my childhood.  So I post them for fellow moms to find and read and see to their children.  While Mother Goose may only be an imaginary author who writes fairy tales and nursery rhymes, she has done a very good job filling tot’s heads with wonderful stories and tales.  Here’s to Mother Goose!

Mother Goose

Old Mother Goose,

When she wanted to wander

Would ride through the air

On a very fine gander.

Jack’s mother came in,

And caught the goose soon,

And mounting its back,

Flew up to the moon.
