Our Sunday Routine

Of all the days in the week, Sunday is our relaxing day.  We very rarely plan anything to do but stay in a spend quality time as a family.  Between work, school and extracurriculars, the week can get crazy, with Saturday left for errands, the big clean and going out.  But Sunday is family day.

We usually start our day with a big breakfast.  Whether its bacon and eggs, or pancakes and peamale, or my favourite, BLT’s, breakfast is a big deal on Sundays.  After that its pretty easy-going.  We usually stay in our pj’s for a majority of the day.  Hubby likes to take this day to makes his soups and sauces, but today he is making Patyczki and Kapusta, delicious Polish dishes that I ate for the first time while visiting his grandparents when we first started dating.  When he is in the kitchen, that means that Princess and I are either at the park, watching a movie or doing crafts.  Today, it was crafts.  While I made Christmas cards, the Princess made her herd of dinosaurs.

So on Sunday’s, what does your family do?

  1. It’s so funny and contradictive, but Sunday’s – or at least the mornings – usually end up being my craziest day of the week! Trying to get 3 kids up, fed, and dressed in Sunday best is no easy picnic. Plus, I am probably scrambling around for my Sunday School lesson, or some other duty/task I have volunteered to do for Church that morning. It shouldn’t be that way…but on the Sunday mornings that Left Brain is not working, he normally will do pancakes for the kids. Which only makes us later to church – LOL. But the afternoons are definitely time to relax. If we are not with family or friends, then you can bet there is a movie on for the kiddos while mama puts her feet up.
Then at supper we realize we didn’t make anyone do their homework, and another mad scramble begins. You’d think we’d learn. I for one would love to have a Sunday that is quite literally, a day of Nothing.

    • I’m sure once the Princess starts receiving homework the mad Sunday scramble will begin. We like to have at least one day where nothing is happening. Sometimes you just need to unwind and relax from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
