I have to admit since becoming pregnant I’ve left the cleaning of our bathroom to Hubby as the smell from most bathroom and shower cleaners made me gag. I’m a little anal retentive when it comes to cleaning so after my daily Pinterest tour, I found a way to clean my bathroom using stuff you find in your cupboards. Using nothing but baking soda and vinegar I’m able to clean my bathtub and shower without the harsh chemicals and to my standards LOL.
- Dampen your bathtub and shower with a bit of warm water.
- Sprinkle baking soda over the area you want to clean and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Using a scrubber, scour the baking soda all over. Then pour the vinegar over, let foam and fizzle for 10 minutes.
- Scrub and then rinse.
I love this as it did the job, removed the soap scum and water stains and didn’t enrage my gag reflex.
I remember when Hubby and I moved in together. Our apartment consisted of hand-me-down furniture and an uncompromising mixture of our two very distinct and eclectic tastes. He is into carved wooden “crap” as I call it. There are masks and tall statue of a man holding a lizard or that’s what it looks like anyways. Drives me bonkers. He dislikes my taste as well, but that’s simply because I have some. Over the last year we have been making subtle changes to our home and redecorating some of the rooms. Some are still in progress but our bathroom was one of my favourites to do and it’s completed LOL. Here are the before’s and after’s.
For those much needed bubble baths
This is the Art Project I did for the Bathroom – Collage of Princess’ Baby Bath Photos
I have redecorated our bathroom. It was looking awfully plain, so Hubby and I went to the local store to find new stuff. According to hubby, decorating is my area is what I love to hear. After we got all the essentials, I noticed there was something lacking. It needed some art of some kind.
Now I was trying to think of what kind of art would be bathroom appropriate and nothing immediately came to mind. But then I thought, why not use photos as art? I looked online for photo sites where you can take your own photos and alter them how you like.
I found http://www.scrapnook.com, a website where you can make scrapbook like pages. I took all of the Princess’ baby bath photos and made a collage. After I saved the photo on my pc, I altered it to black and white to match the colours of our bathroom make over. I took it to a local photo store and had it enlarged. I loved the way it turned out. And now I have beautiful art in my bathroom and it has a wonderful personal touch.
